News published under the Song Contest Radar Editorial Desk byline is researched, sourced and maintained as team coverage rather than attributed to an invented individual author.
What the Editorial Desk does
We follow official Eurovision channels, participating broadcasters, host broadcasters, organisers and artists, then turn verified announcements into concise news coverage and updates to the relevant season trackers.
When a story changes, we prefer updating the underlying tracker or guide as well as the news article so readers do not encounter conflicting versions of the same fact across the site.
Primary-source first
For current-season facts, first-party sources take priority: Eurovision and EBU pages, broadcaster announcements, official host-city information and direct artist or selection communications. Each news article identifies its primary source and, where available, the date on which that source was last rechecked.
Corrections and updates
Material changes are reflected in the article's updated date when appropriate. A source-recheck date is treated separately: checking that a source still says the same thing does not automatically imply that the article itself changed.
Images and illustrations
Editorial illustrations are labelled as illustrations and are not presented as documentary photographs of an event. Where a specific licensed or editorial image is available, the article image system can replace the generated fallback while preserving the same large-image and structured-data requirements.
