Information processed when you visit

Like most websites, the hosting and security infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. This can include IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, response status and related server-log data. Because shared Fan Layer snapshots or exact interactive-tool states deliberately encode selected data in their URL, those selected values can form part of the requested URL processed by hosting or security infrastructure when the link is opened.

Browser storage and interactive tools

Some Song Contest Radar tools store preferences or rankings locally in your browser so they remain available when you return. Local browser storage stays on your device unless a feature explicitly says that information is being submitted to the site.

My 2027 Radar stores the country slugs you choose so your Eurovision 2027 watchlist can be restored on that device. Its shareable URL can contain the selected country slugs plus non-personal display options such as the chosen filter and sort order; it does not require an account or create a public watchlist profile.

The permanent My Radar Fan Layer stores song identifiers plus the song title, artist, country, year and profile link needed to display your saved choices, together with whether you marked a song as a favorite and any personal 1–10 rating you gave it. These song favorites and ratings are currently browser-local and are not submitted as a public Fan Score or global rating total.

My 12 Points choices are also stored locally by Contest year. The same store powers season rankings and the evergreen My 12 Points History in My Radar. These choices remain personal unless you deliberately include them in a shared ranking or other visible share text.

Favorite artist choices are stored locally with the artist name, profile link and represented country information needed to display the artist again in My Radar. They do not create public follower totals or a public artist-following profile.

Country Comparison can remember which country you personally preferred in a specific head-to-head pairing. These selections can appear in My Country Picks, can be removed individually or together, and are not counted or displayed as a site-wide fan poll percentage.

News reactions such as Interesting, Excited, Surprised or Love it are also currently stored only in your browser. They can appear in My Radar as your private reacted-story history and are not published as site-wide reaction counts.

The Eurovision 2027 Trip Budget Calculator does not save a budget automatically. If you explicitly choose Save in this browser, one compact budget draft is stored locally on that device so the clean calculator page can restore it later. You can remove that saved draft from the calculator at any time. Opening someone else's shared budget does not replace your saved draft unless you explicitly choose Save.

The Eurovision 2027 Packing List does not use browser storage for checklist progress. Ticks remain only in the open page unless you deliberately choose Share progress, which creates a compact noindex URL containing the checked/unchecked snapshot needed to recreate that list state.

My Radar can export song favorites, ratings, favorite artists, My 12 Points picks, Country Comparison picks, followed Eurovision 2027 countries and news reactions into a JSON backup file created by your browser. Restore reads a backup you explicitly select and merges valid Fan Layer entries back into browser storage. The current v4 format remains compatible with older v1–v3 backups; the backup file is generated and parsed on your device and is not uploaded to Song Contest Radar.

When you share My Top Songs or a season ranking, Song Contest Radar can create a snapshot URL containing up to 10 selected song identifiers and their visible 1–10 scores, plus an optional Contest year and My 12 Points song identifier. Anyone who receives that URL can read the ranking data encoded in the link. The URL does not expose unrelated favorites, ratings, artists, reactions, country picks, browser storage or a public account profile, and shared snapshot pages are marked not to be indexed by search engines.

When you share My Country Picks, Song Contest Radar can similarly create a noindex snapshot URL containing up to 10 selected country pairings and the preferred country in each pairing. The link does not include unrelated ratings, favorites, followed countries, reactions or other browser-local Fan Layer records. A recipient can make their own choices for the same pairings; those answers are saved only in the recipient's browser.

The Scoreboard, Voting Simulator, Points Calculator, Trip Budget Calculator and Packing List can create exact-state links. Scoreboard links contain the ranking mode and visible ranking rows. Voting Simulator links contain the current voting-group setting plus jury and audience points for the 2026 field. Points Calculator links contain only the ten visible counts for 12, 10, 8 through 1-point awards. Trip Budget links contain the currency, traveller/night/day counts and cost values you deliberately choose to share. Packing List links contain only the compact checked-item state needed to recreate checklist progress. These links do not transfer unrelated browser-local Fan Layer records or a separately saved trip-budget draft. Free-form Scoreboard text and shared budget values become part of a deliberately shared URL, so sensitive personal information should not be entered into a scenario intended for sharing.

On a shared song ranking, the recipient can optionally compare the sender's visible scores with ratings already stored in the recipient's own browser. That comparison is calculated locally and does not add the recipient's scores to the shared URL. The recipient can also explicitly import the visible shared scores into their own My Radar. Import changes only the recipient's browser storage and asks for a second confirmation before replacing different existing scores or a different My 12 Points choice.

Share controls can open a Song Contest Radar menu with direct choices for Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Reddit and Bluesky, plus Copy link and a More option using the device share interface when available. These social services are not embedded as tracking widgets merely because the button is shown. If you select a provider, Song Contest Radar opens that provider with the page or snapshot URL and formatted share text; the provider's own account, cookie and privacy practices apply from that point. Copy link remains local to your clipboard, and sharing never sends the underlying local-storage database.

The site also stores your analytics consent preference locally so your choice can be respected on later visits.

Google Analytics

Song Contest Radar uses Google Tag Manager to manage Google Analytics for aggregate traffic and usage measurement. Google Consent Mode is configured before the Tag Manager container loads, with analytics storage denied by default.

If you choose Allow analytics, the analytics-storage consent signal is updated to granted. If you decline, analytics storage remains denied. You can change the choice later through Cookie Settings in the footer.

Advertising

Song Contest Radar is being developed as an advertising-supported publication. Advertising-related Google consent signals are currently kept denied by the site consent control. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is enabled later, this policy and the consent implementation will be updated before consent-dependent advertising is activated where required.

Consent in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland

The site provides an analytics consent choice before non-essential analytics storage is granted. If Google advertising policies later require a certified consent management platform for advertising, one will be implemented before personalised or other consent-dependent advertising is served.

Information you send to us

If you contact Song Contest Radar, the information you provide may be used to respond to your message, handle a correction, evaluate an editorial tip or manage the enquiry. Do not send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for the request.

External links and embedded media

Articles, guides and archives may link to or embed media from third parties such as YouTube. Embedded YouTube players use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain, but third-party services remain governed by their own privacy practices and may process information when you choose to load or interact with them. The same applies when you deliberately open a social provider from the Share menu.

Retention and security

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, legal obligations, security or abuse prevention. Browser-local Fan Layer data remains on your device until you change it, use My Radar's two-step Clear all local Fan Layer data control, or remove site storage in your browser. A saved Trip Budget draft remains on the current device until you clear it from the calculator or remove site storage in your browser. Exported Fan Layer backup files remain wherever you choose to save them and are outside Song Contest Radar's storage once created. Data deliberately encoded in a shared ranking, Country Picks snapshot, Scoreboard, Voting Simulator, Points Calculator, Trip Budget or Packing List URL remains present in any share URL you or a recipient keeps or forwards. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used for information processed by the site, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy choices

You can use browser controls to remove cookies or local storage. My Radar also provides a dedicated Data section with a two-step Clear all local Fan Layer data control that removes saved songs, favorites, ratings, My 12 Points picks, favorite artists, Country Comparison preferences, followed 2027 countries and news reactions from the current browser. The Trip Budget Calculator has its own Clear saved draft control because trip-planning data is separate from My Radar. The Packing List stores no checklist progress automatically, so Reset affects only the currently open page. You can export a complete local Fan Layer backup before clearing My Radar and restore that backup later if you want. Clearing local data does not revoke links you previously shared because their selected snapshot or tool-state data can be encoded in the URL itself. You can reopen the site consent interface using Cookie Settings in the footer and change whether analytics storage is allowed.
