What cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website or service can store in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, which Song Contest Radar uses for requested interactive features such as watchlists, personal rankings, song and artist favorites, ratings, My 12 Points choices, country-comparison preferences, reactions and an optional saved Eurovision 2027 trip-budget draft.

Necessary storage

Storage that is strictly necessary for security, requested functionality, consent preferences or technical operation may be used without being treated as advertising or analytics storage.

Your analytics consent choice is stored locally in your browser so Song Contest Radar can remember whether you allowed or declined analytics on later visits.

Tool and Fan Layer preferences

Interactive tools such as personal scoreboards and My 2027 Radar may store your choices locally in the browser. My 2027 Radar stores the country slugs you selected so the same device can restore your Eurovision 2027 watchlist without requiring an account. A shared My 2027 Radar URL can contain those selected country slugs plus non-personal display options such as the active filter and sort order.

The permanent My Radar Fan Layer stores the song information needed to identify your saved entries together with Favorite status and any personal 1–10 score. This lets song profiles, season rankings, Random Song or Winner tools and My Radar show the same choice consistently on the same browser.

Season ranking storage can also contain one My 12 Points song identifier per Contest year. The same browser-local store now powers the evergreen My 12 Points History in My Radar. These choices do not create a public 12-point vote total.

Favorite artist storage contains the artist identifier, name, profile link and represented-country labels needed to restore your artist list in My Radar. It does not create a public follower total.

Country Comparison can store your preferred country for an individual head-to-head pair. These personal picks can appear in My Country Picks and are not presented as public poll percentages.

News reaction choices are saved locally so your selected reaction can remain visible when you return to an article and can appear in your private reacted-story list in My Radar. They are not currently uploaded to create global reaction totals or a public fan profile.

The Eurovision 2027 Trip Budget Calculator saves nothing automatically. If you choose Save in this browser, one compact budget draft is stored locally on the current device. Opening a shared budget does not replace that draft unless you explicitly save the shared scenario. The calculator also provides a Clear saved draft control.

My Radar can create a JSON backup containing song favorites, ratings, favorite artists, My 12 Points picks, Country Comparison picks, followed Eurovision 2027 countries and news reactions. The current v4 file is generated by your browser and remains compatible with older v1–v3 backups. Restore reads a file you explicitly choose and merges valid data into local storage; the file itself is not uploaded to Song Contest Radar.

Sharing from interactive features

Share buttons open a Song Contest Radar share menu with direct choices for Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Reddit and Bluesky, plus Copy link and a More option that can use the browser or operating system's native share interface. These social providers are not embedded as tracking widgets on the page and Song Contest Radar does not contact them merely because the share button is visible. A request to the selected provider is made only after you choose that provider.

If you choose a direct social provider, that service receives the page or snapshot URL and the share text needed to open its composer. From that point, the provider's own cookies, account state and privacy practices can apply. Copy link stays local to your clipboard. More uses the device share interface when supported and otherwise falls back to copying the link.

My Top Songs and season rankings can create a snapshot link. The URL contains at most 10 selected song identifiers with their visible 1–10 scores, plus an optional Contest year and My 12 Points song identifier. This selected data is part of the URL itself, so anyone who receives or forwards the link can read the snapshot. The link does not contain the rest of your browser-local Fan Layer, and shared snapshot pages are marked not to be indexed by search engines.

My Country Picks can create a separate noindex snapshot link containing at most 10 selected country pairings and the preferred country for each pairing. A recipient can see those shared choices and make their own choices for the same pairs; the recipient's answers remain in their browser and are not added back to the sender's snapshot.

The Scoreboard, Voting Simulator, Points Calculator and Trip Budget Calculator can create exact-state links. A Scoreboard link contains the ranking mode and visible ranking rows; a Voting Simulator link contains the current voting-group setting plus jury and audience point values for the 2026 field; a Points Calculator link contains only the ten visible counts for 12, 10, 8 through 1-point awards; a Trip Budget link contains the currency, traveller/night/day counts and cost values you deliberately chose for that scenario. These links do not include unrelated Fan Layer records or a separately saved trip-budget draft. Because free-form Scoreboard text or budget values become part of a shared URL, do not enter sensitive personal information into a scenario you intend to share.

When you open someone else's song-ranking snapshot, Song Contest Radar can compare the visible shared scores with ratings already stored in your browser. That comparison remains local to your browser. You can also rate the shared songs directly on the snapshot page or explicitly import the sender's visible scores into your own local Fan Layer. Import does not copy favorites and requires a second confirmation before replacing different existing scores or a different My 12 Points choice.

Other shares, such as a favorite-artist list, My 12 Points history, news reaction or page share, send only the formatted text or page link shown by the feature rather than transferring the underlying local-storage records.

Google Analytics

Song Contest Radar uses Google Tag Manager to manage Google Analytics. Google Consent Mode is set before the Tag Manager container loads: analytics storage is denied by default and is changed to granted only when you choose Allow analytics.

If you decline, analytics storage remains denied. Advertising-related consent signals are currently kept denied because Song Contest Radar has not enabled consent-dependent advertising through this control.

Advertising cookies

If advertising services such as Google AdSense are enabled later, advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure and protect advertising. Before consent-dependent advertising is activated, the consent controls and this policy will be updated as required.

Managing your choices

You can reopen the consent interface at any time using Cookie Settings in the site footer, then allow or decline analytics. You can also remove or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. My Radar provides a dedicated Data section with a two-step Clear all local Fan Layer data control that removes browser-local My 2027 Radar countries, song favorites, ratings, My 12 Points choices, favorite artists, Country Comparison preferences and news reactions from the current browser. The Trip Budget Calculator has its own Clear saved draft control because that planning draft is separate from My Radar. You can download a Fan Layer backup before clearing local data and restore it later. Previously shared snapshot links are independent of local storage because their selected ranking, country-pick or tool-state data is encoded in the URL.

Updates

This policy will be updated when the site materially changes analytics, advertising, consent, Fan Layer persistence, optional tool storage or other cookie-using services.
