Marie Myriam won London 1977 with “L'oiseau Et L'enfant”, giving France a fifth Eurovision victory. It remains France's most recent win in the Contest.
A delayed Contest and the return of the language rule
Strike action pushed Eurovision 1977 back by a month, while the rule requiring entries to be performed in an official language of the country returned after being dropped in 1973.
