481 songs became a seven-act final
Yle accepted entries from 17 to 23 August 2026 and received 481 song submissions. A selection group led by Yle Music editorial manager Tapio Hakanen, combining music-industry professionals with five audience panels, has already chosen the seven acts that will compete at Nokia Arena.
January reveal schedule
The seven UMK27 artists will be unveiled in a live broadcast on 13 January. Their songs and music videos will then arrive one per weekday from 14 to 22 January, giving the full lineup a staggered release window before the February final.
Tickets were reserved in record time
Yle says tickets for both the 20 February final and its afternoon dress rehearsal were reserved in record time after sales opened on 1 October. In the broadcaster's latest update, only isolated seats remained available.
The road from Tampere to Burgas
The winner of UMK27 will represent Finland at Eurovision 2027. Nokia Arena therefore becomes the final domestic stage before Finland's chosen act heads to Burgas for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest.
