The road to Eurovision 2027 is now formally underway. From 1 September 2026, commercially released songs can fall within the eligibility window for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas, marking the practical start of the new season.

The official Eurovision season update confirms active national-final song calls in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, San Marino and Sweden. Several of those selections already have dates or submission deadlines in the calendar, while others are still waiting for their full live-show details.
Italy is also developing its 2027 route through Festival di Sanremo, which will include a Eurovision-focused night for the first time. Austria and Switzerland have opened submission windows that feed into internal selections rather than televised national finals.
The complete EBU participant list has not yet been published. Song Contest Radar therefore keeps selection activity separate from confirmed participation status: a broadcaster opening submissions is an important signal, but it is not treated as a substitute for the official list.
