Construction has begun on the stage for the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia at One Bangkok Forum in Thailand. Eurovoix reported on 2 November that production work was underway inside the venue. The development comes less than two weeks before the planned 14 November final and marks a visible step in preparations for the first edition.
What to know
- Stage construction started at One Bangkok Forum on 2 November; rehearsals are expected the following week.
- The eleven-country final is scheduled for 14 November at 14:30 CET / 20:30 ICT.
Rehearsals are expected to begin the following week, according to the stage-construction report. Starting assembly does not confirm a finished stage design or completed technical tests, and the organisers have not yet supplied detailed new production specifications. Images from the works should therefore not be mistaken for the final television presentation.
Eleven countries will compete. Vietnam’s Tóc Tiên is first in the published running order with “EM TIÊN”, and Malaysia’s Aina Abdul closes the show with “Bluest Sky”. Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Bhutan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand, the Republic of Korea and Nepal take the other positions, as confirmed in Eurovision’s official running-order announcement on 29 October.
The Eurovision Asia final is scheduled for Saturday 14 November at 14:30 CET, equivalent to 20:30 ICT in Bangkok, according to the event’s official website. A preview show is scheduled for Friday 13 November. Participating broadcasters and Eurovision’s official YouTube channel are among the announced viewing options, subject to territorial availability.
The competition is expected to combine jury and audience votes in equal proportions. As the venue moves towards rehearsals, Song Contest Radar will distinguish confirmed stage developments from unverified technical claims. For now, the confirmed development is the commencement of work at One Bangkok Forum, not any announcement of a completed production.
