Eurovision Song Contest Asia reaches another milestone on Friday as Republic of Korea stages Korea's Next Wave, its national selection for the inaugural Asian edition of the Contest.
The show will take place on 4 September at 16:00 CEST, which is 23:00 in Korea, and will be broadcast domestically on ENA while streaming worldwide on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
Eight artists and eight songs are in the running. The result will be decided through a mixed system: public voting inside Korea counts for 40 percent, international public voting for 20 percent and a professional jury for the remaining 40 percent.
For fans beyond Europe, this is one of the clearest signs yet that the wider Eurovision universe is expanding into a fully active selection season outside the main May contest.
