Why there is no Eurovision 1956 scoreboard here

Each of the seven participating broadcasters sent two jury members to Lugano. The juries voted in secret, and only the winner was announced publicly. The complete scores and placements were not published.

For that reason, Song Contest Radar does not turn modern database placeholders into invented historical results. “Refrain” is the confirmed winner; a verified second-to-fourteenth ranking is not available.

The first Eurovision format

Seven countries entered two songs each, creating a 14-song Contest. Switzerland's Lys Assia performed both Swiss entries — “Das Alte Karussell” and the winning “Refrain”.
