Spanish broadcaster RTVE is preparing to introduce the 18 artists selected for Benidorm Fest 2027 on Wednesday 14 October. The broadcaster has scheduled an official press conference at its Prado del Rey headquarters for 17:00 Spanish peninsular time, with a free live stream on RTVE Play. As of the preparation of this report, the broadcaster has not yet released the names.
What to know
- RTVE has scheduled the 18-artist reveal for 14 October at 17:00 CEST on RTVE Play.
- Almost 900 songs were submitted; the participating tracks are due on 17 December.
- Benidorm Fest 2027 is planned for 23–30 January in Benidorm.
RTVE communications and participation director María Eizaguirre confirmed the number of artists in a television appearance reported by the broadcaster on 13 October. Eighteen acts would match the size of the previous edition’s line-up. Earlier reports about the number of prospective acts should not be mistaken for the final announcement.
The reveal will be preceded by a special edition of the programme Control Central at 16:00. Presenters Ángela Fernández and David Andújar will host the preview, which will include coverage of preparations at Prado del Rey. The formal presentation follows an hour later and will provide the first officially named competitors in this year's selection.
Interest in the sixth edition has been substantial. According to RTVE, almost 900 songs arrived during the 115-day application period, including roughly 350 during the final 24 hours. These are the broadcaster's figures for submissions, not the number of artists in the final competition. The selection team has narrowed that large field to the acts due to be presented.
The next milestones have also been identified. RTVE says Benidorm Fest 2027 will run from 23 to 30 January at the Palacio de los Deportes L'Illa in Benidorm, while the participating songs are expected to be released on 17 December 2026. The sequence separates the announcement of performers from the public release of their competing tracks.
Benidorm Fest has become a significant televised music event in its own right, bringing returning viewers and new artists to the Spanish stage. The 14 October reveal is therefore a major editorial development, but fans should distinguish the confirmed press-conference schedule from the not-yet-published list of names. This draft should be updated with RTVE's official roster after the event before publication if the names are already available.
