Aina Abdul’s official video for “Bluest Sky” was released on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel on 16 October 2026. The upload gives Malaysia’s entry for the first Eurovision Song Contest Asia its official video presentation ahead of the competition in Bangkok, following the song’s release earlier this month.

AT A GLANCE

What to know

  • The official “Bluest Sky” video was released on Eurovision’s YouTube channel on 16 October 2026.
  • ESCplus credits Chuan Looi with directing the visualiser and Yipieyaya Studio with its production.
  • Malaysia’s live staging is still being developed for the contest in Bangkok on 14 November.

ESCplus reported the video premiere on the same day and identified Chuan Looi as its director and Yipieyaya Studio as the production company. The outlet describes the release as a visualiser accompanying the ballad, which combines English and Malay. Mac Chew worked on the song’s musical arrangement, according to its report.

The new upload is a further step in the promotion of an already confirmed entry. Eurovision’s official website announced “Bluest Sky” as Malaysia’s contest song on 9 October. The video release therefore should not be confused with a new song selection or a confirmed change to the version that will be performed in November.

Work on the live presentation is also progressing. In a separate report published on 15 October, Eurovoix cited an interview with Buzzing Malaysia in which Abdul discussed bringing members of her Anugerah Juara Lagu production team to the contest. Those plans include her staging manager and lighting crew working with the Eurovision production team.

According to that interview report, the team is exploring ideas linked to the song’s sky theme while seeking to avoid an overly literal interpretation. These are indications of a creative direction, rather than a finished staging announcement. The official video alone does not establish which scenery, choreography or camera treatment will be used on the competition stage.

Malaysia’s broadcaster TV3 announced Abdul as its representative during the 40th Anugerah Juara Lagu on 15 August. The next fixed milestone is the inaugural Eurovision Asia contest in Bangkok on Saturday 14 November 2026, a date confirmed by the organiser. The video is now available to audiences, while the final details of Malaysia’s live performance remain to be unveiled.
