Moldova will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria, after broadcaster TRM confirmed its participation on 15 October 2026. The decision ends weeks of uncertainty about whether the country would take part next May, following an additional period granted for TRM to make its final assessment. Details of the song and representative remain to be announced.

AT A GLANCE

What to know

  • Moldova will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria, after broadcaster TRM confirmed its participation on 15 October 2026.
  • Moldova was described by Eurovoix as the 32nd confirmed participant.
  • The confirmed news is therefore Moldova's participation and the leadership appointment, not a national-final announcement.

The confirmation was communicated to ESCSpot by Veronica Cojocaru, who served as Moldova's head of delegation for the 2026 edition. Eurovoix and Moldovan media subsequently reported the decision. The confirmation comes after TRM had been given more time to decide amid management changes, so it is a substantive update to previous reports that Moldova's plans were still pending.

Moldova was described by Eurovoix as the 32nd confirmed participant. Other outlets have used a different running total, making the broadcaster's actual confirmation more important than the precise count. The European Broadcasting Union will ultimately issue the definitive list of participating countries, and readers should distinguish that final list from rolling media tallies.

Another change concerns the leadership of the delegation: Vitalie Cojocaru has been appointed to head the Moldovan team. He has previously held the position during several contest periods, including 2008–2011, 2013, 2015 and 2018–2022. His return may provide organizational continuity while a new selection process is developed, though TRM has not yet announced its rules.

Moldova returned to Eurovision in 2026 after sitting out the 2025 contest. In Vienna, Satoshi represented the country with 'Viva, Moldova!' and reached the final, giving the broadcaster a recent competitive reference point. However, the 2027 choice of performer, entry, staging and selection format is still open.

The confirmed news is therefore Moldova's participation and the leadership appointment, not a national-final announcement. TRM has said it will publish more information about choosing its 2027 representative and song later. Until then, any suggested acts or dates for a selection show would be speculation.
