Jean-Claude Pascal won Cannes 1961 with “Nous Les Amoureux”, scoring 31 points and delivering Luxembourg's first of five Eurovision victories.
Three countries make their debut
Finland, Spain and Yugoslavia all joined Eurovision in 1961, expanding the field to 16 countries and broadening the Contest further across Europe.
