Monaco's first Eurovision victory
Séverine won Dublin 1971 for Monaco with “Un Banc, Un Arbre, Une Rue”, scoring 128 points and giving the principality its first Eurovision title.
Groups are allowed and voting changes again
Dublin 1971 was the first Eurovision in which groups could compete. A new jury system also required two jurors per broadcaster to score every other song from one to five points, while Malta made its Contest debut.
