Swedish broadcaster SVT suspects some songs submitted to Melodifestivalen 2027 were created using artificial intelligence. Project manager Anders Wistbacka told Aftonbladet that SVT has no technical system to determine how many of the record 4,077 submissions used AI.
What to know
- SVT received a record 4,077 submissions and cannot confirm the AI share.
- No specific shortlisted entry is proven AI-generated by these reports.
SVT has not introduced an outright AI ban and stresses that competition vocals must be performed live. Norway's NRK has also raised concerns about AI-generated selection entries, though the two broadcasters have different approaches; suspicion does not establish that any specific competing song is AI-made.
