Sweden has formally started its road to Eurovision 2027, with broadcaster SVT opening the song-submission window for Melodifestivalen.
Applications opened on 21 August and will remain available for three weeks, closing on Friday 11 September 2026. SVT plans to select 30 songs for the 2027 edition of the national final.
Melodifestivalen remains one of the most closely followed national selections in the Eurovision season. Sweden shares the all-time wins record with Ireland and will once again use the competition to choose both its performer and song for Burgas.
