CBC/Radio-Canada has revealed the five finalists who could become Canada's first-ever Eurovision Song Contest artist. William Cloutier, Josiane, Rêve, Talk and Tyler Shaw were introduced on 27 October in Canada's Choice / La Choix du Canada. The five artists are competing for the right to represent Canada at Eurovision 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria.

AT A GLANCE

  • Five finalists: William Cloutier, Josiane, Rêve, Talk and Tyler Shaw.
  • Voting ends 5 November; the artist should be revealed by December.
  • The Eurovision song has not yet been chosen.

The broadcaster received 325 applications between 31 August and 9 September. Its music teams selected 15 artists, and an expert jury then narrowed the field to five. Eligible voters across Canada can watch the candidates' performances and cast up to ten votes per person through the broadcaster's Eurovision voting page. The vote closes on Thursday 5 November 2026.

The shortlist draws from distinct styles and backgrounds. William Cloutier is a Quebec pop singer and Star Académie winner; Josiane is an Acadian singer-songwriter working in French and English; Rêve is a Juno-winning dance-pop artist; Ottawa singer Talk reached international audiences with Run Away to Mars; and Tyler Shaw is a Vancouver-born pop performer with international releases.

The final artist choice is expected to be announced by December. CBC/Radio-Canada and the selected artist will then work on the actual Eurovision song. No finalist's existing single has been announced as Canada's 2027 contest entry, so the artist vote should not be mistaken for a song selection.

Canada's debut is scheduled for the Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas in May 2027. The two semi-finals are planned for 11 and 13 May, and the grand final for 15 May. The next confirmed Canadian milestones are the close of voting and the artist announcement.
