How to get to Burgas for Eurovision 2027
Burgas has its own international airport, rail links to Sofia and the Black Sea coast, and international bus connections. Eurovision organisers are also developing a wider gateway-airport plan for visitors arriving elsewhere in the region.
Flying directly to Burgas
Burgas Airport is roughly 10 kilometres north-east of the city centre. The official Eurovision Host City guide confirms a regular bus route between the airport and central Burgas.
Eurovision's 2027 season launch also says several European airlines have indicated extra Burgas capacity for May, while Bulgaria Air has announced increased Sofia–Burgas service around the Contest period. Exact flight schedules should still be checked directly with the airline before booking.
Using another airport as your gateway
The official Burgas 2027 FAQ says the transport concept extends beyond Burgas Airport. Planning is being developed in cooperation with airports in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and Istanbul as additional international gateways for Eurovision visitors.
This does not yet mean a guaranteed Eurovision shuttle from each airport. Specific routes, journey times and dedicated transfer arrangements remain pending until the operational transport plan is finalized.
Travelling by train
The official Host City guide highlights strong rail connections between Burgas and Sofia, together with connections to other destinations along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. If you are combining Eurovision with time elsewhere in Bulgaria, rail can therefore be part of the itinerary without needing to fly directly into Burgas.
Timetables can change before May 2027, so this page intentionally does not publish a fixed train duration or departure schedule yet.
International and intercity buses
Eurovision's Host City guide says many international bus companies operate routes into Burgas. Bus travel may be useful from neighbouring cities and regional airports, but Eurovision-specific coach services have not yet been announced.
Getting around once you arrive
Burgas has an extensive public-transport network, with Burgasbus identified by Eurovision as the main operator. The Municipality also offers the Transport Burgas mobile app. The city's compact layout is one reason it was attractive as Host City.
Dedicated Arena Burgas spectator transport, exact journey times and event-day traffic arrangements are still pending.
What should you book now?
Flights and accommodation can involve non-refundable costs. The official Burgas 2027 FAQ advises fans to wait for further Host City information before making non-refundable arrangements tied to Eurovision events that have not yet been confirmed.
The three live-show dates are confirmed: 11, 13 and 15 May 2027. Six preview shows are also confirmed during the 10–15 May show-week window.
