How the podium ranking is calculated
Every country receives one podium finish for each completed Eurovision Grand Final where its verified placement is first, second or third. Ties are counted exactly as recorded in the historical result table.
The ranking starts in 1957. Eurovision's inaugural 1956 Contest officially revealed only the winner, so the missing second- and third-place positions are not reconstructed or estimated. Eurovision 2020 is also absent because the Contest was cancelled.

A podium finish is a completed Eurovision Grand Final result in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

The complete 1956 ranking was never published, so second and third place for the first Contest cannot be verified. The ranking therefore starts in 1957 rather than guessing missing podium positions.

Do Semi-Final placements count?
No. This leaderboard measures Grand Final podium finishes only.
